So its that time of year, for me to solemnly swear I will blog again.. Well I will say this. Last year I had 2 kids under 2. It was a lot more than even I expected and my business suffered because of it. But come on, that is much better than the alternative of my children suffering because of it! But this year, I am another year older and highly skilled at juggling day to day terrorizing. I WILL be a better business owner. And by the end of the week you will be able to just buy Smoochie Couture. No more messaging for invoices. This is a special surprise that I am sharing with only you. My one or two readers.. Haha. I am now the owner of www.smoochiecouture.com eeekkk. I don't know why I waited so long. But it is mine. Enough with the words. I will show you what you can buy. Lots of love. Feel free to pin whatever you would like just please link back to this blog. Photobucket

Back in the saddle!

I'm back!!! If you didn't read this in your best Steven Tyler squeal, go back and reread it! Ok it's a new year and I'm a new blogger. I solemnly swear  this blog is going to be an extension of my personality. Kind of a meet the maker deal. I think that I am incredibly funny, and I would like to share that more with you. I can't be all business and no fun! I also over use exclamations and smiley faces. If you know me, you truly know I exclaim things. I use the smiley face because I tend to be sarcastic and let the smiley fact tell people I am in fact jk'ing them. Ok, now back to the nature at hand (another random song quote btw) It's a new year for Smoochie Couture. I am somehow going to try and manage having a toddler, a newborn and run a business. This means the sewing part will be slow for a while. I will probably only offer premade items and do a select few customs. This does 2 things, allows me not to be behind, or be stressed if something happens with the kids, and lets me be more creative. I get to make the items I want to make. Which means the quality will be better and there will be lots of one of a kind pieces.

And speaking of kids. In case you missed it, we welcomed a new addition to our family on the 28th of December. She is perfect in every way. And I'm not just biased. I swear! However she is quite the party animal! She likes to stay up till 2 in the morning. I try to tell her she isn't Snoop Dogg, some of us need to sleep. She isn't having any of it! So this you know, cuts into mama's working time. I'll share a picture of this ball of adorable. Please don't faint from the cuteness.
Ok as soon as you have recovered from all that adorable. We will be doing another giveaway next week. WHAT! Another giveaway you say? I know, I know. I giveaway stuff all the time. I digress its because I like to give it away, give it away, give it away now.. Ok I'll stop, I just like giveaways. I like to enter to win also. I don't know, who doesn't like it? It's just fun. This time though I am giving away CASH MONEY! Yes you read that right, cash money like dolla dolla bill! See now you are getting excited. Well then. Stay tuned and I will post the details next week. Oh and one last thing, we are undergoing a mild revamping of our logo and packaging. I am soooo excited to share it with you when I am done, because the other thing I love as much as giveaways is packaging! And writing this reminds me how lucky I am to get to do what I love. And it's all because of you guys!!! Guess that's really why I love giveaways and packaging. I consider kind of my gift to you.. You know, that you paid for and all! :)

Halloween Giveaway!

So I really get so excited this time of year. Its month after month of amazing Holidays that I look forward too all year around. I kind of think in its own way Halloween pregames us for Thanksgiving and Christmas. How you ask, well it prepares us for having kids going into sugar induced melt downs! Ok, I kid! Halloween is all about the giving (and secretly eating the good candy, because kids will eat anything, right?) so to go right ahead with the giving spirit that's coming in the next few months and to celebrate getting over 200 fans, I'm giving away a Halloween Tie for the guys and a Halloween Hair Flair for the gals. So yes in fact there will be 2 winners! Now, how to win!

1. This is the absolute must, you have to go and Like Smoochie Couture on Facebook. To make it even easier on you here is the link Smoochie Couture This will count as 1 entry.
2. Now to get 2 entries, write on my wall! Just tell me what your favorite Halloween/Fall treat is.
3. To get 3 entries hope on over to Amy Cloud Photography and like her page. Write on her wall and tell her Smoochie Couture  sent you.
4. Last but not least, time for the big guns, if you share this on your wall with your friends and family you will get 5 entries! That means if you just do steps 1-4 you have entered to win 10 times. Now those are great odds! But once you are done with the steps, you need to come back and comment on this blog and let me know what you did that way I can keep track of how many entries you have and also to double check and make sure you aren't trying to "Trick" me. So get busy! This contest ends Wednesday night at midnight mst.

Sunday Sunday Sunday!

So it's Sunday already! This week we have gone through rain, lightening and snow. Mother nature just wanted to test to see if we were still paying attention. Today seems nice enough, so I'm going to take this opportunity to decorate for Halloween. Its one of my favorite holidays and its depressing I had to wait this long to decorate! My lovely husband brought my decorations up for me, not without some remarks like "excessive", "this is why I hate you decorating" etc. etc. If there is a man alive that doesn't complain about his wife's decorations, then well... I doubt he has a wife!!! I bought some cheese cloth to drape eerily around the house, and outside on my grape vines, I'm hoping it turns out very "Martha" and that my recording of the "Martha Stewart Show" does indeed turn out to be a good thing!! But since it has been so long since I wrote I have to show some new pictures that my work was featured in. There is nothing I love better then seeing my work turned into art, because when they are used in beautiful pictures I feel like that's what they have become! Oh and one quick announcement, Smoochie Couture is going to be busting out the winter coats. And I don't mean we are cold,  I mean we are excited to offer some jackets! For boys and girls! So keep your eyes peeled, these will be available before the end of the month!

Rushing Fall!

So I'm so excited for it to be fall. Summer is not my favorite season. I don't like to be hot, or sunburned or exhausted from the heat! Call me crazy but I am one of those people. I have been anxiously awaiting the apple and pears ripening in the back yard, the cool night time breezes and the brilliant colors that fall has to offer. Also, I've been anxiously awaiting designing for fall. I love neutral colors. I know, I know. Boring! I just can't help it. Brown and cream to me are so beautiful, lush and rich. They are a staple in my wardrobe and I'm of no use to my friends when they are picking out clothes because I will most certainly ask if it comes in brown. But this year its different. I am in love with brown still of course but accompanied by bright vibrant colors. Reds, oranges, teals, turquoise, are all taking on a new life for me! They have me so excited that I want fall to stay here forever and winter to never come. But then I started thinking of winter colors.. And well, I got a little excited for that too. So bear with me people! I have some amazing stuff in the works and will be sharing with you all as soon as possible! But today I will leave you with a few pieces I made for the fall and Halloween (one of my favorite holidays)

Breaking the blogging ice...

So, This is my first time blogging. I'm incredibly nervous. Its like meeting new people with all this nervous anticipation. Will they like me? Will they like what I say? Are they judging me right now??? Now to be honest I have hesitated to enter the world of blogging. Now I do like to endlessly ramble, so that's not the problem. It just, well, what do I say? How do I run a blog? How is it relevant to my business, or personal life? But I realize, there are a lot of things I want to do that Facebook doesn't allow... Fun stuff... Like contests and stuff! And I love contests, who doesn't love contests?? So I will use this forum to give you sneak peeks of things I am working on, hopefully post some tutorials for fun easy things you can make at home. But there is one thing I want to share with you tonight! This is my little Smoochie, when he gets older he may hate me for the nickname but for now I can still get away with it. If it wasn't for him, I would have never touched a sewing machine. And well. had I not wanted unique things for him I probably wouldn't have pursued sewing clothing at all. So I'll share a little bit of my love with everyone and let the adventure of the blog world begin!
